Good information! I fish for BT in New England waters and am often puzzled why we never broaden our horizons by looking at techniques from other regions.

How do you recommend keeping a fish on once you get a bite on the lucky craft. Just keep it tight? Do you set the hook hard?

I never realized stripers came this far south. I caught many in the SF Bay Area, but never saw one since I moved to San Diego Couinty.

I love this channel buddy. You roll with a lot of gear! I’m one of those minimalist surf fishermen… ball cap, thermal long sleeve, t-shirt over, thin frogg togg water/wind proof jacket, surf trunks, barefoot ( surf booties in cold or rocky conditions ) and a large fanny pack with scissors, needle nose pliers, a calissa 110, a lucky craft 115, 2 small bags of 1 1/2” grubs ( root beer and motor oil ) and a little plastic box containing my terminal tackle. One 9’M Daiwa Saltist, one Shimano Sedona 2500 or Saros 3000 spoiled with either 8-10lb Izorline xxx copolymer. Oh, and a dirty rag tied to my pack strap…. Fish on 🎣🤙🏻

Ya buddy👍🏻 I just caught my PB striper yesterday in front of my house ( Hermosa Beach ) throwing a Calissa 110. Landed it on 8lb Izorline xxx copolymer ( best line on the market in my opinion ) and wow, what a fight! Using a Daiwa Salitist 9’M, and an old ( but trusty ) Shimano Soros 3000. Good times 🎣🤙🏻

So this didn’t necessarily help me cast, but it helped my head space immensely. I have been casting thinking I suck cause it isn’t going far enough. And then you stated the distance… I hit that often if not every time. Thanks man.
